Millina waterfront reformation

Milina is a small village with traditional houses by the sea, in Pelion. It attracts tourists, from villages in the area, mainly during the summer. A reformation of the waterfront is proposed to add more public space in front of the sea. A new arrangement of cafeterias and restaurants is proposed with structures not to form a continuous border to the sea. New activities are proposed for recreational purposes, during the tourist period.
Design objectives
New space & form experience
The addition of extra public space on the waterfront area will increase activities by the sea and connect different parts uses of the front, forming new pedestrian experience, with added sitting areas, continuous pedestrian path along sea and bicycle lane.
Local communities & economies
New proposed recreational activities, (sailing, water routes proposal, sports facilities, projection areas etc) will increase local tourism activity and boost village's economy.
Application of Technology and innovation in design thinking
Smart city technologies are proposed, in order to handle traffic and parking, during summer rush hours
